P-o-t-t-y

So I have decided I am going to begin the ever-so-exciting potty-training experience. Jordan has already started telling us when he's gone "poopy" in his diaper. It seems a little early to potty-train, but I figure this is my cue to start the process, even if we just take our time with it. It would be wonderful if I could have Jordan potty-trained by the time Baby #2 comes along. So my question for you moms out there is TIPS PLEASE?? What kind of potty did you get? How soon did you move in to pull-ups? Any advice you can give would be great!

We never used pull-ups with Porter. I have always felt like they were kind of glorified diapers and they're way more expensive. I figured if he needs a pull up, why not still use a diaper? When we decided to potty train Porter we kind of went cold turkey. No diapers, underwear only (except nap and bedtime). He was pretty much potty trained fully (minus nap/bedtime) in 2 weeks. About 4 months later we stopped putting diapers on him at night. We did have a potty we used for a short while (just a couple months, really)... I think it was the cheap $9.99 Target brand one. After that we used the seat thing on the toilet and Porter really doesn't use anything on the toilet anymore- just sits on the regular toilet.

Good luck!

Well, if you figure out how to potty train Jordan, please send some tips our way.

When Reyna was a little older than Jordan, I thought she was ready. We went out and bought a potty and undies. No such luck. Maybe I didn't try hard enough, I don't know.

We have a potty seat that sits right on the toilet and a pod-type seat from Toy House. I would say just go with one that fits on the toilet. Then you don't have to worry about cleaning a seat. They tend to get gross.

I am with Nicole....pull-ups are expensive and they are the same texture as diapers.

I hope you have some good luck potty training.

My girls were both around 3 when they finally decided they would be big! I noticed that the more anyone pushed it the more they DIDNT want to do it...so I just waited until they asked to go and that was that. I heard little boys are harder (or take longer) then little girls...I think Nicole got really lucky with Porter, lol!

And on the pull-ups...they are expensive, but I always bought the cheapest brand. My kids mainly used them at night, cause I was afraid they would pee the bed.
