Updates!
I have missed blogging. Not that I have ever been much of a writer on my blog, but I just miss having little updates of the kids on here. I love to go back through the months/years to see how they have changed. My new resolution is to become a better blogger. It's important for me to document the day to day things so I don't forget them. So with that said, here are some updates on my sweet kiddos:
Jordan will be turning 5 in December. He missed the cut off for Kindergarten by 2 days, so he is doing another year of preschool. He is in the Young 5's program at Cherubs with Mrs. Tippens as his teacher. It's been an adjustment having him at school every day this year as opposed to 2 days a week from last year. I really miss him! He is there from 12:45-3:15. So far he seems to be enjoying it.
He also started back up with soccer this Fall. Both he and Iris play on Saturday mornings and Monday evenings. They're on different teams, so it's a challenge trying to watch both games at the same time. Jordan is doing really well. He looks like a different kid out on the field compared to a year ago. This year he's aggressive and more competitive. I love to watch him play.
Jordan continues to have a meek and mild personality. Don't get me wrong, he can be pretty rambunctious when playing with the boys, but his heart is such a sweet one. When the bible talks about having faith like a child, Jordan has really brought that scripture to life for me. Jordan is my little prayer warrior. He takes the initiative to pray whenever something is wrong....whether someone isn't feeling well, or someone gets a boo-boo, or someone is just upset. I have overheard him praying in his bedroom a few different times and when I stopped to listen, my heart just melted with his sincere talk with Jesus. I love that he understands the concept of prayer, but what I love even more is that his faith is SO big. Jordan has the faith to move mountains. He believes that when he prays over sickness, Jesus is going to heal. He believes that when he prays for pain to be taken away, Jesus is going to take it away! He prays like he is 100% confident there is a God who hears him. If only we all prayed the way a child prays....if only we all had faith like a child. I love the way Jordan begins every prayer with "Hallelujah for this day....." He is so precious and so special.
Iris turns 3 years old this week!! I am having a hard time believing that. She has changed SO MUCH in this last year. When she first turned two, she wasn't talking a whole lot. We had our concerns. She didn't show an interest in learning how to say new words. Everybody kept telling us that she would one day just take off with her speech, and THAT she did. It seems like she went from saying just a handful of words one minute to speaking in complete sentences the next. Now she talks all the time! Can't get her to stop! In fact, people comment on how well she talks for her age.
In these past 6 months, Iris has become quite the social butterfly. She loves to talk with anyone and everyone. She has conversation with strangers wherever we go. She always waves and says hello to the random people she walks past. Sometimes people don't hear her and she is confused as to why they aren't saying hello back. I love her friendly personality and I hope she keeps this type of personality when she's in school.
As I previously mentioned, Iris started playing soccer. This is her first sport, and she loves being a part of something. She's a lot of fun to watch. She hasn't quite gotten the concept of trying to get the ball from the opposing team, but she sure is cute running around out there. On the first day, the soccer coach went around asking everyone their name. When he came to her, she said, "Iris....Iris Elivabef Perry". It was the cutest thing! I have such a fun time with Iris. 3 words to describe her best would be SILLY, FEARLESS, and FUN-LOVING:)
Kate is now 8 months old....and I don't like that one bit! I have made a conscious effort to really enjoy Kate being a baby, since most likely, she will be my last. I have had lots of snuggle time with her, and I have cherished every chance I have had to do that. Kate has been such a good baby. She's just now getting to the point where she fusses, but honestly, for the first 6 month you rarely heard a peep out of her. I think she's so intrigued and entertained by Jordan and Iris, she never gets bored enough to fuss! Her brother and sister sure do think the world of her. They are so gentle and loving.
Kate has been on the move since she was 6 months old. For these last few months she has been scootching all over the place. She's now mastered the art of crawling, and you cannot keep this little one still. She is always on the go. She can also pull herself up, and when she does, she looks like such a big girl!
Eating is already a favorite past time. She is onto eating just table food now, some of her most preferred being bananas, grilled cheese, toast, cheerios, sweet potatoes, and any kind of fruit. She still nurses throughout the day, supplementing one of her feedings with a bottle of formula.
Well, I think that's all I have for now. I will get some pictures up soon!
